The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA was first established in 1914, and has been serving our community for over 100 years. Our mission is to advance the compassionate treatment of animals by providing sheltering, medical care and behavioral services to dogs and cats, and to promote permanent caring homes by providing education and outreach within our community.
At CASPCA, our vision is healthy animals in caring homes. We have been designated as a no-kill shelter since 2016, and with the support of our community we help thousands of animals find their forever homes each year. We are inspired by the resilience of companion animals and the depth of love they have to share, and are honored to serve both pets and people within the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County.
