Finca Las Torres is one of several high‑elevation plots managed by Café Rivense, a family farm and micromill founded in 2005 by Régulo Ureña and Isabel Rojas in Costa Rica’s Brunca region. Today, their children — Ricardo, Mario, Esteban, Luis, and Tatiana — carry forward the vision, running Rivense as a fully integrated operation.
The farm’s lush, garden‑like parcels deliver cherry to Rivense’s own wet and dry mills, meaning the coffee is prepared for export entirely on site. This ensures both quality and traceability from tree to bag. Rivense’s commitment to excellence has earned international recognition, including 5th place in Costa Rica’s Cup of Excellence (2019).
Sustainability is woven into every step: shade trees enrich the soil, water sources are protected, and fertilizers are applied only when necessary. By focusing on honey and natural processing, the Ureña family reduces water use while enhancing cup character. The Chirripó terroir — nestled beside Costa Rica’s highest peak — offers a unique microclimate with flourishing biodiversity, producing coffees of clarity, sweetness, and layered fruit complexity.
