Finca Las Torres is one of several high-elevation plots managed by Café Rivense, a family farm and micromill founded in 2005 by Régulo Ureña and Isabel Rojas in Costa Rica's Brunca region. Today their children, Ricardo, Mario, Esteban, Luis, and Tatiana, carry forward the vision, running Rivense as a fully integrated operation where coffee is prepared for export entirely on site. That commitment to traceability, from tree to bag, earned them 5th place in Costa Rica's Cup of Excellence in 2019.
Nestled beside Cerro Chirripó, Costa Rica's highest peak, the farm's unique microclimate and volcanic-influenced soils produce coffees of exceptional clarity, sweetness, and fruit complexity. Honey processing, where the cherry skin is removed but the fruit mucilage is left on during drying, enhances the natural sweetness and body of the coffee. Shade trees, protected water sources, and minimal fertilizer use are woven into every step.
In the cup: candied plum, red apple, and honeycomb. Best enjoyed as a pour over, Chemex, or drip.
